The Law Faculty Students’ Union

The Student's Union is the basic students' organization at the Law Faculty in Niš, founded in 1990 with an aim to develop and promote successful educational, professional, cultural and sporting cooperation with other students' organizations at other Faculties of the University of Niš, and other law faculties in the country and abroad.

One of the primary tasks of the Students' Union is to protect students' rights and interests and to facilitate good conditions for the studying process. The Students' Union favours a compromise between students and the Faculty management in solving students' problems and requests.

The Students' Union is in charge of publishing a newspaper "Lawyer", which is considered to be one of the most significant and high-quality students' gazettes at the University of Niš. It primarily covers the current Faculty events but it also includes the current city, state and world news. The newspaper is published monthly, with a circulation of 400 copies which are distributed to the Faculty students.

In cooperation with the Students' Unions of other law faculties in Serbia and the former Yugoslavia, the Students' Union takes part in organizing "Law Faculties' Reunions", traditional annual meetings of law students which include students' competitions in law, sporting competitions, exchange of studying experiences, socializing and having a good time. The Students' Union also organizes the senior students' excursions and proms. A significant segment of the Students' Union activities is the organization of lectures given by eminent legal scholars and professionals, panel discussions, and visits to state institutions.

The Students' Union premises are located on the ground floor, next to the Students' Club. The Students' Union Office is open from 10am to 1pm on workdays.
