The student's status is attained by enrolment into the first year of studies. All Serbian and foreign citizens are eligible to apply for admission into the Law Faculty, subject to the conditions set forth in the University Act and the Law Faculty Statute.
Each student is entitled to the following rights:
- to enroll a study program, acquire quality education and be subject to impartial assessment
- to be duly and properly informed on all the issues pertaining to the studying process
- to take an active part in decision-making processes, pursuant to the University Act and the Faculty Statute
- to get organized in students' organizations and have a freedom of expression
- to be subject to all the privileges arising from the student status
- to be subject to an equal treatment and an equal quality of studying
- to be different and to be protected against discrimination
- to vote and be voted for the Student's Parliament and other Faculty or University bodies
Each student is obliged:
- to meet all the teaching and pre-examination requirements
- to abide by the general Faculty and University acts
- to observe and respect the rights of the Faculty employees and other students
- to participate in decision-making process in compliance with the University Act and the Faculty Statute
The student status is terminated if a student fails to complete the law studies in the course of
- two academic years (in case the study program takes 1 academic year)
- four academic years (in case the study program takes 4 academic years)
- six academic years (in case the study program takes 3 academic years)
- eight academic years (in case the study program takes 4 academic years)
- ten academic years (in case the study program takes 5 academic years)
The time limits do not apply and are not included in the overall calculation for the period when the student status, rights and obligations are disrupted or considered inactive, in compliance with the provisions in the University Act and the Faculty Statute.
The student status is also terminated in the following cases:
- a student has completed the study program;
- a student has signed out of the study program;
- a student has failed to enroll into the academic year;
- a student has been expelled from the Faculty for a major disciplinary violation.
